This is not one of my regular travel episodes with a lot of recordings in the streets. This is something completely new and I call these weekend episodes “Vagabond Shorts”. Picture this: You’re strolling through a lush jungle, the air thick with the scents of damp earth and wild foliage. The trees are towering, the paths are winding, and the monkeys? They’re the kings here.

3. Tegallalang Rice Terraces
Bali is famous for its stunning rice terraces, and Tegallalang near Ubud is the cream of the crop. The green, layered terraces are like nature’s own staircase.
It’s an endless sea of green that cascades down the slopes of the Balinese hills. Here, the rice fields form an intricate pattern, almost like a giant green puzzle spread out under the sky. In the evenings, Seminyak Beach transforms into a picturesque spot for sunset viewing – as it’s facing west. The sky lights up in brilliant colours, and the beach takes on a magical glow.

5. USAT Liberty Shipwreck
In Tulamben, a small village on Bali’s northeast coast, there’s this cool underwater sight called the USAT Liberty Shipwreck. It’s an underwater playground for scuba divers.
This big old ship from World War II is now underwater, really close to the beach. When you go diving there, it’s like entering a whole new world.
The ship is covered in colorful corals and surrounded by all kinds of fish – it’s super lively and just awesome to see. It’s not every day you get to swim around a sunken ship, right? Plus, there’s a bit of mystery to it, which makes the dive even more exciting. Whether you’re a big diving fan or just trying it out, exploring the Liberty Shipwreck is a pretty cool adventure.
6. Uluwatu Temple
Located on a cliff in Pecatu on Bali’s Bukit Peninsula, Uluwatu Temple is not just a spiritual haven, it’s a feast for the eyes. It’s high up, right over the ocean, so the views are amazing. You can hear the waves crashing below – it’s pretty relaxing.
This temple is all about respecting the sea, and it’s been there since the 11th century, so there’s a lot of history.
Every evening, they do this awesome Kecak fire dance. Picture a bunch of dancers and fire, with the sun setting over the ocean in the background. It’s like Bali’s own Broadway show, but with a better backdrop.
Going to Uluwatu Temple is not just about seeing an old building; it’s about feeling something special and getting a bit of that Bali magic.
7. The Bali Swing
Last but not least, the Bali Swing. Ever dreamed of swinging over a jungle? Well, in Bali, you can do just that. Imagine sitting on a giant swing, pushing off, and soaring over lush green trees.
